WELCOME
TO MY HOMEPAGE
Dianna is an Aboriginal lady who was born in a small country town named Goodooga, located in the far north western area of New South Wales, Australia.
She was the first Aboriginal student to complete her School Certificate by doing the Blackfries Correspondance Course at Goodooga Public School.
She moved to Sydney, away from her family at the age of seventeen to better studies. She attended Hales Business College and went onto work in offices. Being dissatisfied after a few years she decided to become a nurse.
At the age of twenty five she applied to enter teacher's college and was successful, having graduated, she became the First Aboriginal Early Childhood Graduate.
Her career path took on a gradual climb from directing a country coastal pre-school, to teaching : primary school children, adult education at university level and children with special learning difficulties.
During that period she developed a program to help children to learn to read with help from their parents : Kit's Reading
These days, apart from her own Jam & Tea Company, Dianna spends her time between teaching Aboriginal childrens Literacy, being President of the National Aboriginal & Islander Skills Developement Association ( NAISDA ) and creating businesses which focuses on providing training & employment programs for indigenous youth from remote areas of Australia
